Painting "Life Beside" for Daijoji Temple

I was commissioned by Kantai Tsuchiya, the chief priest of Daijoji Temple in Shizuoka Prefecture, to create a painting.
The production, including planning, took two months. The painting will be displayed in the main hall.

"Life Close"

As the world becomes more interconnected, the "poison" that degrades the human soul grows stronger and continues to wander without being digested.
This is similar to how industrial waste does not return to the soil and continues to erode the earth.
Nichiren Shonin once said that in the age of the Latter Day of the Law, Buddhism should be developed not for vested interests, but to save oneself and one's neighbors.
While I cannot change the world, it is enough to protect "my living self" and the "life beside me".
This painting embodies that prayer.
